Unbuilders is an exciting new company that deconstructs homes (rather than demolishing them), salvaging over 90% of the materials and doing so at a lower cost then demolition, once tax credits have been factored in. Worked with a group of local residents in West Vancouver to develop a comprehensive energy and emissions plan for the district with a goal of reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gases by a minimum of 40% from 2015 to 2040.
In collaboration with Brantwood Consulting and Energistic Consulting, developed the business case for an in-building energy utility company called eStream Energy Partners that partners with developers and municipalities to design, build, own and operate in-building energy utilities that use 80% less energy than conventional buildings.
In collaboration with Brantwood consulting and others, developed business plan, which included development of a building energy calculator, key competitor activities, new technologies, and 10 year financial projections. As part of this work, helped raise the initial funds and get 400,000 square feet of building space committed to ultra low energy performance standards.
